CFO Buzz is a news feature capturing top stories affecting CFOs. This feature is published Fridays so that CFOs can gain perspective over the weekend, allowing them to challenge themselves and think about how to improve their lives, careers and companies.
1) Continue Growing at Your Employer, or Leave
There are two reasons CFOs and senior finance executives leave companies. They are asked to leave – because they are no longer adding the value that the company needs from them. Or they leave on their own accord – because they are no longer able to get what they need from their employer. Actually, these two reasons are different sides of the same coin. What are you doing to continue to grow? Or can you?
2) Grumpy Finance Teams Accomplish Nothing
Want your Finance team to be productive? Keep them happy. Or, at least, make sure they’re not grumpy. And remember, your bad mood is contagious. Put on a smile!
3) Is your Auditor a FwB?

4) Profiling Top CFOs
One of the best parts of what I do is to listen to the stories CFOs tell. They see so much, and are truly on the front lines of the battles facing businesses today. In my own way, I share some of the CFO stories I hear. But I love hearing more CFO stories. What’s your story?
5) Where do You Eat Lunch?
Or do you? This article point to a white paper that says that if you want your top talent to continue to stay with you and your organization, you should not be eating lunch at your desk. How many times a week do you leave your desk for lunch?
